Punjabi Singer Sidhu Moose Wala shot dead in Mansa village

Popular Punjabi singer and rapper Sidhu Moose Wala, who had joined the Congress before the Punjab elections, has been shot dead by unidentified assailants in Jawaharke village of Mansa district. The news of his death was confirmed by Dr Ranjeet Rai, Civil Surgeon, Mansa Hospital

Sidhu Moose Wala had contested the Punjab assembly election on a Congress ticket from Mansa and was defeated by the AAP candidate Vijay Singla by a huge margin of 63,000 votes. Vijay Singla was recently sacked by Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann over charges of corruption.

According to multiple media reports, Canada-based gangster Goldi Brar, a close aide of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, on Sunday took responsibility for the killing of singer-turned-actor-politician Sidhu Moosewala in Punjab.

BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa alleged that Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and AAP MP Raghav Chaddha travel with 90 and 45 gunmen respectively, but they took away the security of Sidhu Moose Wala.

Last month, Sidhu Moose Wala had sparked a row after he targeted the Aam Aadmi Party and its supporters in his latest song ‘Scapegoat’. The singer had allegedly called AAP supporters ‘gaddar’ (traitor) in his song.

Sidhu Moose Wala hailed from Moosa village in Mansa district of Punjab. His mother is a village head. After completing his electrical engineering from Punjab, he moved to Canada on a study visa in 2016. In 2017, he released his first track 'So High'.

Moose Wala had joined the Congress last year before the Punjab Assembly elections. Navjot Singh Sidhu, who was the Punjab Congress chief during his induction, had termed Moose Wala a youth icon and an international personality.
